So it is that time of the year again. The great toy sale is on. I braved the masses to get in and grab a bargain or two (actually 12). I went armed with my trusty catalog, that Chris had already looked and circled the items we wanted, and was on a mission to get what I wanted, and get out.

Well, plans rarely go to plan, right.  The first Item I was looking for had no floor stock.  I grabbed the nearest young guy and asked him if he could look out the back and see if they had any in stock.  While he was gone, I went on filling the trolley with items I needed.

Got Baby Swings, Bouncers, Play gym, monitor, nappies, close and secure sleepers, and a couple of swaddle sets for good measure (Chris will love them, I’m sure ).

I got the Swings and bouncers in the first trolley, and toddled off to the lay by counter. Dropped them off and went back for another load. Well actually, I had to make three trips in total.

While I was standing at the counter putting all this stuff up, the girl, couldn’t have been more than about 16 or 17, said to me, you do realise you have 2 of everything here don’t you sir. I laughed a little and filled her in on our expecting twins. She went redder than the shirt she had on!!!

I have to now go back in a few days to get the baby car seats as they couldn’t get to them today.

All in all by shopping at the toy sale, we saved ourselves $580 off RRP.  $1750 worth of goods for only $1170.  And I can take 5 months to pay off my lay by too, which is fantastic.

The Cots have arrived

The Cots came yesterday. Chris found them on Ebay, and even after paying for postage we got them for a fraction of the cost of buying them in-store.

Well we have decided to paint the babies room. Noting that we cannot find out the sex of the babies, what colours should we paint the room?

Are there any colours that you think have a positive impact on the children?

After looking at all the childcare options available to us for the twins, we decided to ask my parents if they would move over to Perth and help us out. Childcare for 2 kids was almost a weeks wage. I can rent a second house cheaper than paying for childcare!!!

Mum & Dad have agreed to move over and help out, which is fantastic. Not only to help us out, but it has been 12 years since I have lived even in the same state as them!!! My time in the Navy saw me move all over the country.

I am not sure who is more excited though, me or them.

For those of you who have had kids already, what are those items that you would call ‘must haves’. You know, the items that made things so much easier. Our first major purchase will be cots, and then the twin pram.

Well we have just received our 8 week scans. They are really starting to grow now.  Not just black dots on a screen anymore. As excited as I am, I know that getting through the first trimester is the first hurdle.  They both have heartbeats around the 120 mark. I can’t wait for the next scans, but I have to wait a month this time round.  The wait alone is gonna drive me insane.

Well, now that it is twins, one of the things I need to do is upgrade the Ute into something a little more Twin Friendly.
